It’s Tallahassee Time as the Legislature is back for their first committee meetings for the 2018 session. They’re behind due to a week of meetings canceled due to Hurricane Irma.

The pre-session committee meetings will cover a lot of ground early as the 2018 sixty day regular session beings on January 9th, ending on March 9th.

Close to 2000 bills will be filed in the next three months by legislators. In actuality, only a modest number of the bills will receive a committee hearing, and an even smaller number yet will ever be voted into law.

For conservatives, less is best for sure.

So both legislators and lobbyist will be working committee chairpersons hard between now and the end of the year to get their bills on the agenda.

Success early with the first committee reference now might also mean success come March 9th.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation, the atheist, anti-God religious group, is at it again with another harassing P.R. blitz.

Their latest mark is Senator Marco Rubio.

And just what is Marco’s dastardly crime? He’s tweeting out an encouraging verse of Bible scripture each day.

That’s right; they’re squawking it’s illegal for a U.S. Senator to tweet out a Bible verse.

I’m not making this up, and this is not click bait. This religion of atheists believes the Senator is required to check his 1st Amendment Religious Liberty rights in the closet just because he is a member of Congress.

Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, in the early days our U. S. Capitol building actually hosted Christian church services.

Breaking News: Senators are free to embrace any religion.

The mass causality event we have feared has become a reality on the Las Vegas strip.

The senseless ambush of innocent country music fans poses sobering questions about the “open society” we all universally relish and very much want to keep.

No one who was there, no one who ever hears the audio of the frightening bursts of the long and rapid gunfire from Mandalay Bay’s 32nd floor will ever forget those sounds.

As we continue to learn facts, statistics, and the motive surrounding this dark event, one fact is already indisputable.

Las Vegas’s S.W.A.T team who in minutes identified and moved on the shooter’s exact location is nothing short of miraculous. Only God knows how many souls were saved by S.W.A.T. disrupting the shooter’s murderous assault.

May God Bless the Las Vegas’s first responders and all impacted by this evil atrocity.
